Our Theology

We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word. The Holy Scriptures were written by men who were completely inspired by Almighty God. There is not one word in the Bible without the inspiration of the Holy Spirit! We believe that the Bible does not err. It is infallible, inerrant, and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. It is correct in all its statements and propositional truths, including the realms of science, history, and the divine message of salvation. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
We believe that God is One and Triune. God is One in nature, power, and authority, who expresses Himself in the three persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Oneness of God in nature, expressed in three persons is a mystery and not a contradiction. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, 1Timothy 2:5)

We believe that the Father ordains, purposes and sends the Son and the Spirit. (Gen. 1:1, 1 John 4:13-14)

We believe that the Son, Jesus Christ, obeyed the will of the Father, lived a perfect, sinless life in obedience to God’s Law, both inwardly and outwardly, died upon the cross and shed His blood to satisfy the holiness of God and to provide a once-for-all sacrifice for the sins of the world. (Matthew 5:17, John 1:29, Hebrews 10:10, 1 John 2:2)

We believe that the Holy Spirit is not a spiritual force, but is the third actual person of the Godhead, but one in nature with the Father and with the Son, Jesus Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit always points us back to the person and work of Christ, which brings about holiness. The Holy Spirit is our seal unto the day of redemption. Once we have placed true faith in Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is sent to indwell in our lives and bring about holiness and conformity to Jesus Christ. He is our pledge of the inheritance that we will receive fully in Heaven in the presence of God. (Genesis 1:2, Acts 2:38-39, Romans 8:15, Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe that God is completely Holy, Holy, Holy beyond any of our comprehension and this is why He must judge sin. (Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8)

We believe that mankind as a whole is morally depraved and separated from God by sin. We are sinners by nature, by choice and by practice in need of salvation from our sins. We believe that salvation only comes through the work of Jesus Christ, in His life, death and resurrection. We are saved by faith in His sacrifice alone and not by any deeds or works of our own. If one has placed genuine faith in Jesus Christ, then that will result in repentance of sin unto salvation. (Psalms 51:5, Romans 1:21, John 14:6, Acts 2:38, Acts 4:12, Ephesians 2:8-9)

We believe that since God is completely Holy, then He is also completely loving. The Bible says that God loved us before we ever loved Him. God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to die in place of our sins, so that all who believe in Jesus might not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16, John 11:25-26, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 2:9, 1 John 4:19)

We believe those who place faith in Jesus Christ should be a reflection of His holiness, love, forgiveness, grace, kindness and compassion before others. Christians are to be separate from the world in word and deed. Our bodies are the temple of God. (Acts 11:26, Romans 8:29, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)

We believe marriage was instituted and blessed by God, that marriage is the sacred union of one man and one woman that are bound together by the vows they make to one another in the presence of God and His people. We believe marriage is a representation of Christ and the church. (Genesis 1:20-25, Ephesians 5:22-33)

We believe disciples of Jesus should meet together throughout the week for the purpose of worship, prayer, teaching, preaching, fellowship, encouragement and giving to support the ministry and mission of the church. (Acts 2:41-47, Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, Hebrews 10:25)

We believe there are two ordinances the church should practice, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the new life we have in Him. The Lord’s Supper is a reminder of Christ’s death and anticipates His Second Coming. (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:41, 1 Corinthians 11:24-26)

We believe the church is commissioned to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and make disciples of all people. Starting where we are to the uttermost parts of the world! We do that by sharing Jesus with our community, going on mission trips and financially supporting missionaries. (Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:47, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 8:9)

We believe that either at the point of physical death or when Christ comes back, that those who have trusted Jesus as Savior and Lord will enter into His eternal presence, unhindered by sin, completely holy, completely satisfied with Jesus, in Heaven forever. Those who have not trusted in Christ will enter into eternal damnation in hell, separated from the life of God that He gives to those who trust in Him. (Luke 16:19-31, Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 21:5)

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again personally, visibly and bodily to call His church to heaven and then return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Jesus will rule and reign over the earth as it is now, and then rule and reign over the new heaven and the new earth where we will be with Him forever. (Matthew 24:27, Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, Revelation 1:7, Revelation 19:16, Revelation 21:1-27)
